Co-founder of Protekt, Nick Norris, had the privilege of chatting with James Geering, the host of the Behind the Shield podcast. Behind the Shield is centered around bringing a community of fighters together - no matter what kind of fight you’ve experienced in this life.
James Geering is a firefighter, living out his childhood dream, and he takes on his battles through his career. Nick, having graduated from the United States Naval Academy and Basic Underwater Demolition and SEAL training, knows a lot about fighting through life as well.
Nick talks about his way of battling through life and what motivates him to perform his best.
“I’d rather be in a race where it’s going to be miserably cold or miserably hot, because I know that’ll start to level the playing field and put me at a disadvantage. For some reason, that handicap pushes me. It’s something that I lean on - something that drives me to do better, push harder, and dig deeper.”
This method of how to create a fitness plan, of course, doesn’t work for everyone. Since Nick is highly trained and equipped with years of experience, he thrives on feeling like the underdog at times. For those of us who don’t have all that knowledge and expertise on our side, we can stick to simply asking ourselves how to stick to working out every day.
Something that can help with staying committed to working out is having enough energy to do so. You can achieve this level of energy by eating a balanced diet (moderation is key), drinking enough water, and getting restful, quality sleep.
Something else that can help you feel jazzed enough to head to the gym is Protekt’s Liquid Energy Supplement. It contains B vitamins, taurine, and natural caffeine - just enough to get you amped up and ready to go, but without the crash afterwards.
Whether you’re a seasoned veteran when it comes to exercise like Nick, or a newbie who doesn’t have to actively try to be the underdog, there’s always a place for you at Protekt.
